I was born in Oregon, but have lived all over the United States, thus my company name, Rooted Nomad! I have settled in Texas, but I have lived in Missouri, California, Alabama, Washington, and Arizona.
I have an Associate's degree from Cottey College (Missouri), and a double Bachelor's from Mills College (California) in Psychology and History; both are women's colleges, in which I am still actively involved in alumna activities. I received my Master's degree in Psychometry and Educational Specialist's degree in School Psychology from the University of Alabama and my doctorate from Arizona State University in Educational Psychology. Previously, I taught undergraduate and graduate students for several years, exclusively at Whitman College (Washington), Arizona State Unversity and Estrella Community College.
I have been nationally certified in school psychology, through the National Association of School Psychologist, since 2003. I have been a school psychologist for 15 years, and a Licensed Specialist in School Psychology in Texas since 2011.
Currently, I am pursuing licensurate under my PhD in Texas, and studying for the EPPP (affectionately known as "The Beast").
In my spare time, I am an avid equestrian! I have two horses and compete them in the sport of dressage.
